Promises// පොරොන්දු

The day 
She remembers  well
 he said 
“Will love you forever
And a day”
But Some vows 
Start fading
As soon as they are made
All that remains 
Faint Twine of hope
Flickering  memory of 

Half a life time away
Disrobing her , his gaze 
To shriek or flee
She could not resolve
“Resist and I’ll stab
Eighteen no less”
Alas some promises are kept
A naked body lies lifeless
In a puddle of red

“ආදරෙයි අනන්තයට “
මතකයක් පමණි අද 
එකින් එක බිඳෙන රැහැන් 
බලාපොරොත්තු 
කඩවෙන්න ම උරුම 
සමහර පොරොන්දු 
හුස්මක පාවෙලා යන 
දිවුරුම්, 
ඉතිරි කර සුසුම් 

වෙනත් භවයක් 
වියරු නෙත් යුගලක් 
ඇඳි වත බලෙන් ලිහන 
බැල්මක් 
වක් පිහියක්

“කොටනවා අම්මපා  
කට වහන්  ඇල වෙයන් “
සමහර පොරොන්දු 
අකුරටම ඉටුවෙන 
ඈ  නග්න සිරුරත 
නිසලව ලේ විලක් මැද
