Today I walked in your town

I walked through the streets of your town.
today
Changing the picture in my mind
from an old post card
from a vinyl record sleve (with John , George Paul & Ringo )
 at every turn
I think I finally got it ,
things thing ...the cultural melting pot .
when  I saw the oriental girl
 pick the coin
that african middle aged lady ,pushing a pram
dropped
 Their fingers touched slightly
and both smiled

I smelled the smells
 Saw the long dark shadows ,
 heard the whispers
behind the illuminated images
I have onlyseen
 projected on to a white screen
until today
